Last night I attended the 'Leeds Young Peoples Positive Achievement Awards' at the Town Hall...

I attended last years event at the Royal Armouries and my colleague Sally Coe had invited me to join this years celebration of the achievements of the young people who have taken part in the targeted schemes funded through Supporting People, Positive Activities For Young People (PAYP), The Youth Justice Board, The Children's Fund, DCSF, NRF and SSCF.

We were entertained by three brilliant performances by 'Breeze has Talent' award winners while Jim Hopkinson, who heads up our Youth Offending Team, announced all the winners who were presented with their awards by Cllr Stuart Golton, Portfolio Holder for Children's Services here in Leeds. It was a great evening recognising the difference young people and families have made through these wonderful programmes.
