The Bike to Work Scheme is now open and it’s a great chance to reduce your carbon footprint and get fit and healthy at the same time..
This year, the scheme is operating under the existing contract with Edinburgh Bicycles Co-operative until 30 June 2010. With the scheme you can hire a new bike and safety equipment over a 12-month period. You could save around a third on the normal price of a bike - If half of the journeys you make on the bike are to and from work, or between places for work, then you don’t have to pay tax or national insurance on the payments.
